Sometimes, a traditional church service can be uninteresting and somewhat challenging to a younger child. After all, sitting still is not one of a child's strong points. With that in mind, Mike and Lynnette Reed head up an exciting Children's Church program which meets simultaneously with our regular Sunday morning worship service. The preaching and teaching of God's Word is still the primary focus for the young people, but with plenty of singing, games and crafts to keep those active minds engaged. Hearing the enthusiasm of these children will make you wish you were young once more!
The Kid's Club
On Sunday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. (during the service time) we offer a special Kid's Club for those young people who are ages 5 through the fourth grade. This ministry seeks to bridge the gap between being in the nursery and being in the main service. The focus is on God's Word and learning the important doctrines of our faith. But the format involves games, crafts, Bible lessons, Scripture memorization, and age-appropriate activities to keep young minds engaged while learning and growing in the faith. It's worship...but with younger souls in mind.
Wednesday Youth Meetings
Our high school and college students meet each Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. This group shifts between focused Bible studies and topical lessons based on the current group's needs. Or sometimes they just deal with the questions that are on someone's curious mind. If you want to learn more about our youth ministry, please contact the church.
We can't save anyone from their sins...only God can do that. But He commanded us to preach the Gospel to the unsaved world around us. One of the ways we seek to carry out that command here at Manor Baptist Church is through door-to-door visitation. We have targeted a portion of our densely populated community as being our primary visitation area, and we seek to regularly reach every home in that area with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our faithful visitation teams could always use some more willing workers.
We don't regard music as entertainment here at Manor Baptist Church. Music is an integral part of our worship, preparing our hearts for the preaching of the Word of God. Our choirs, our instrumentalists, our soloists, and the entire congregation take part in the music of our church. If the Lord has gifted you musically, perhaps there's a place for you in our music ministry. If you want to know more, contact the church.
Women's Missionary Fellowship
Can you be active in supporting missions even if the Lord has not called you to full-time missionary service? Well, we have some ladies here at Manor Baptist Church who will be quick to tell you that you can! Our WMF generally meets on the second or third Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the church library. Please contact us if you have any questions about this program.
The nursery ministry is one of the most important jobs we do here at our church. Parents with little ones need a place where they can leave their precious children, knowing they'll be kept safe and have their needs provided for. Not everyone is cut out for working in a nursery, but our volunteers have a genuine love for children and a recognition that the work they do is critical to the effectiveness of our church. We strive to have our nursery open and ready during every scheduled service, so that parents can focus on God and enjoy their time of worship.
As a general rule., on the second Friday of each month we host an activity we call Game Night. Mike and Lynnette Reed coordinate this activity, which meets in one of the downstairs classrooms in our West Classroom Building. If you're a fan of traditional table games (or newer twists on some old favorites), this is the place for you! Game Night beings at 7:00 p.m. and the ending time is fairly flexible. Food and refreshments are part of the deal as well. If you want to know when the next Game Night will take place, please contact the church.
