Our Ministries
Here at Manor
Baptist Church, in
addition to our
regular services, we
offer a number of
programs for people
of all ages.

Sunday School
Sunday School is not just for the little ones! If you have an interest in knowing more about the book called The Bible, this weekly time of instruction is the place to start. Classes begin each Sunday morning at 9:45.
The Berean Class
Our Berean Class is the primary adult Sunday School class, and is taught by Ron Bates. This class is currently studying the Book of Ezekiel. Ron is a former pastor and seminary instructor, and he is excited about taking the class through this fascinating prophetic book from the Old Testament. If you want to learn more about the Word of God, this class may be just what you are looking for.
Tagalog Language Class
We also offer an Adult Sunday School class taught in either Tagalog or English, depending upon the needs of those present. This class meets during the regular Sunday School time. Danny Mojado is our teacher for this class, and can be contacted through the church.
Foundations Class
Foundations is our newest Sunday School class here at Manor. Pastor Carruthers teaches this class, which is designed for new members, new believers, or anyone who wants a good basic grounding in the faith. It consists of eight sessions which are taught in a continuous rotation, so a person can enter this group at any time, complete the course in eight weeks, and then move on to one of our regular Sunday School classes. The numbers in this class are kept limited, so contact Pastor Carruthers (pastorcarruthers@manorbaptistchurch.com) if you might be interested in attending.
The ER
The name comes from the place where our teens meet--the end room in our classroom building. But it also stands for "The Eternally Redeemed," which is exactly what we want our young people to be. Once each month, we organize a Teen Game Night on a Friday evening, where we have something good for supper, followed by some exciting, fast-paced games. On the last Sunday of each month, we have an Afterglow for our teens following the evening service. Afterglows, which are hosted at different homes, are a time to just unwind with Christian friends, snack a little (okay..a lot!), and play some games. Curious? If you're in the seventh through the twelfth grade this year, come be part of our ER. No appointment necessary.
Youth Classes
We also offer classes during the Sunday School hour for our younger children. Our Preschool Class is taught by Len Tisdale and Ellen Topacio, and creates a fun time of Bible-based instruction for those who have outgrown the nursery, but who aren't yet out of kindergarten. Our Primary Class is taught by Rocky and Jeannie Billings, and steps the learning curve up just a bit for those in first through third grades. For the fourth through sixth graders, we have our Juniors Class. Teachers Ruth Figueroa and Lilia Kirby share the duties here with this exciting group of youngsters.
Our Other Ministries
Children's Church
Sometimes, a traditional church service can be uninteresting and somewhat challenging to a younger child. After all, sitting still is not one of a child's strong points. With that in mind, Mike and Lynnette Reed head up an exciting Children's Church program which meets simultaneously with our regular Sunday morning worship service. The preaching and teaching of God's Word is still the primary focus for the young people, but with plenty of singing, games and crafts to keep those active minds engaged. Hearing the enthusiasm of these children will make you wish you were young once more!
Ladies Bible Study
Our Ladies Bible Study is currently on Summer break, but will resume in September. This uplifting Bible study meets at two different times each week in order to better accommodate your schedule. One session meets on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 A.M. while the second session meets at 7:15 P.M. on Thursday evenings. Regena Carruthers is our teacher. Contact the church or Regena (gena@manorbaptistchurch.com) if you have any questions.
AWANA Club
Our AWANA Club is also in its Summer break, but will resume on Wednesday, September 10. Club time begins at 7:00 P.M. and ends at 8:15 P.M. Learning about God's Word really can be a whole lot of fun, and something your little ones will enjoy taking part in. Our AWANA Club covers children age four through the 6th grade. Parents are always welcome to stay and observe our club activities or ask questions of their children's leaders, or if they like they can join us in the main auditorium for our regular Wednesday evening service (this service will end prior to AWANA dismissal time). Let us know if you have any questions about the program or our club.
Wednesday Night Bible Club Soul Winning Music Ministry Women's Missionary Fellowship Each year, these ladies organize and coordinate a special Christmas offering for the missionaries who are supported financially by our congregation. A special service with a missionary speaker is followed by a luncheon fellowship, so there's much to enjoy about this particular Sunday. But the centerpiece of the event is the offering, for this serves as our Christmas gift to our missionaries all over the world. Nursery Ministry
While our AWANA Club takes a break, we've replaced it for the Summer with what we call Wednesday Night Bible Club. This group is made up of young people from ages 4 and 5 right up through the sixth grade. We have fun games and competitions, Scripture memorization, lots of singing, and an exciting missionary story each week. The club meets at the same time as our AWANAs, 7:00 P.M. until 8:15 P.M. If you have any questions about this fun Summer ministry, please contact the church.
We can't save anyone from their sins...only God can do that. But He commanded us to preach the Gospel to the unsaved world around us. One of the ways we seek to carry out that command here at Manor Baptist Church is through door-to-door visitation. We have targeted a portion of our densely populated community as being our primary visitation area, and we seek to regularly reach every home in that area with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our faithful visitation teams could always use some more willing workers.
We don't regard music as entertainment here at Manor Baptist Church. Music is an integral part of our worship, preparing our hearts for the preaching of the Word of God. Our choirs, our instrumentalists, our soloists, and the entire congregation take part in the music of our church. If the Lord has gifted you musically, perhaps there's a place for you in our music ministry. If you want to know more, contact the church or our Music Director, Ken Kirby, at music@manorbaptistchurch.com.
Can you be active in supporting missions even if the Lord has not called you to full-time missionary service? Well, we have some ladies here at Manor Baptist Church who will be quick to tell you that you can! Our WMF generally meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 10 A.M. in the church library. Please contact us if you have any questions about this program.
The nursery ministry is one of the most important jobs we do here at our church. Parents with little ones need a place where they can leave their precious children, knowing they'll be kept safe and have their needs provided for. Not everyone is cut out for working in a nursery, but our volunteers have a genuine love for children and a recognition that the work they do is critical to the effectiveness of our church. We strive to have our nursery open and ready during every service, so that parents can focus on God and enjoy their time of worship.
